Story

Worlds Collide.  Within minutes I had passed through nearly everything nature could throw my way.  I zigzagged thru dense, sodden forests, sunk into parched, crumbling dunes, and finally found myself at the end of the trail staring into impassable marshland.  With crystal clear freshwater ponds dotting the landscape behind me and saltwater swamps in front, the only thing absent from view were majestic snowcapped peaks.  Chuckling underneath my breath, I began to speak of our good fortune when a sudden gust of wind stopped me mid-sentence.  I wouldn’t dare tempt the storm clouds on the horizon to unleash a potential wintry furry, but it was too late, their minds were made up.  Trampling over the mountain of trees, the wind swept across the reeds, pulling a torrential downpour over our heads.  Whether we liked it or not, our adventure was cut short.  We quickly turned tail and began the wet slog back home.  (One of us returned to the car much better off; next time she might not be so lucky to steal my jacket, brrrrrr).
