Story
Through the Looking Glass. “If it was so, it might be; and if it were so, it would be; but as it isn't, it ain't. That's logic.” –Lewis Carroll. (I know, I know, technically that quote is from Alice in Wonderland, but through the looking glass made more sense in terms of photography.) As I balanced on the edge of a cliff I watched the breeze gently push ripples across the surface. The perfect reflection gradually transformed into another reality where logic did not apply. “Which way was up and which way was down?” I pondered. Perhaps with a little bit of luck and I short nap under the sun I could find myself transported to this otherworld much like Alice. Would my partner in crime, Rogue, take on the role of the Cheshire cat, I mean they do share a pretty laid-back vibe? As I slowly got lost in my thoughts, I began to laugh under my breath. Here I was miles from civilization, wandering to my heart’s content, yet my mind was elsewhere. The back and forth between Alice and the Cheshire cat looped on repeat:
Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?
The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.
Alice: I don't much care where.
The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go.
Alice: ...So long as I get somewhere.
The Cheshire Cat: Oh, you're sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.
And with that as a guiding plan, I travelled back to reality, ready to set off, exploring wherever the paths guided us.
