Story

Sunset on a Giant.  As the cold touch of darkness drowned out the vibrant greens of the forests below, the cloudy sky lit up, painted by the dying light of alpenglow.  From atop my throne, I watched as each defiant ridgeline grasped at the last remaining rays of warmth before fading into the obscurity of night.  Slowly, the foggy veil on the horizon began to lift, revealing the colossal peak cloaked in springtime snow.  The powerful base radiated in the golden glimmer of the sunset, enchanting my thoughts, pulling me closer to the unknown. I began to shiver as the bitter winds swept up the valley, ferociously robbing the heat from my body, but I didn’t care.  In that instance I was lost in time, focused on the beauty that lay in front of me, while subconsciously my mind raced, planning its future conquest.  Now, as I look out the window I see that winter is breathing its last dying breath, giving way to a new season of adventure.  The mountains are calling my name once again, and I cannot wait to stand beneath the mesmerizing magnificence of these daunting peaks.
