Story

Take Me Back. Walking along the shoreline my footprints gradually faded, eroded by the gentle rush of the ocean. Time and time again the signs of humanity were washed away by the ever consuming waves. The giant, powerful beast has an insatiable appetite that devours everything in its path. Throughout history man has battled to conquer this untamable monster. From colossal steel ships that stretch further than one’s imagination to quaint coastal towns that try to defy the looming threat of Mother Nature, one by one they eventually succumb to the patient forces of the sea. Slowly but surely the gentle ebb and flow of the rising tides inch closer to its goal of reclaiming the coast as its own, while civilization continues its constant battle against the environment, biding its time, tirelessly holding onto its claim with constant upkeep. The ship, Peter Iredale, surrendered to a much quicker fate in its clash with the mighty Pacific. The rusty steel carcass of a hull gradually decays on the beach as it fights a losing century long battle on the Oregon coast. In its prime the ship fell victim to the unrelenting thrashing of the sea. Overtaken by a powerful Northwestern squall, the roaring waves washed it ashore to be abandoned by its crew. Now all that remains is a figment of its former self, steadily disappearing under the soft lapping of waves.
